Product Focus: Quickwire T Connector Plug & Socket

As with Quickwire’s previous award-winning products, the new T Connector Plug and Socket is made for ease of use and offers incredible time savings compared to standard fittings.

After the success of the Splitter Junction Box and Switch and Load Junction Box, there has been increasing demand for a plug in T Connector to offer the same benefits but to be used together with downlighters.

There are two new products available:

T-Connector Plug & Socket

This is a 3 pole plug and socket; the plug accepts flexible cable, and the socket consists of two Quickwire solid core twin and earth, loop in loop out connections. The T connector offers the same ease of use as other Quickwire junctions boxes.

Main Benefits:

  • Compact – fits through a 30mm diameter hole
  • One piece plug moulding snaps shut with cord grip.
  • Easy disconnecting for maintenance and testing.
  • Dramatic time savings on site.

T-Connector Prewired Plug & Socket

This is the same T-Connector socket, but the plug is prewired with 3-core 0.75mm2 PVC flexible cable in both 15cm and 30cm length. All prewired plugs come with ferruled connections on the trailing end.

It’s very easy to use as follows:

T-Connector Socket connection at 1st fix:
  1. Strip cable
  2. Align prepared cable and guide into outlet until resistance is met. At this stage check sheath is within cord grip and conductors are visible through windows.
  3. Continue to push cable until shuttle snaps into place. Repeat process for the other outlet or push into unused shuttle.
T Connector Plug Connection at 2nd fix:
  1. Strip cable
  2. With plugs fully open, terminate cable.
  3. Close just cover side which includes cord grip, then push cable firmly into cord grip
  4. Bring other cover side around to meet and press both halves together until they click.

It’s that simple! No wonder the feedback from electricians is so positive and perhaps another award is on its way.
