The ErP (Energy related Product) regulations
This is intended as an overview of new legislation, which becomes mandatory on 14th April 2010, how it will
affect BEW, our customers and end users.

The ErP (Energy related Product) regulations have been produced by the Commission of the European Communities and will apply to ALL members of the EU and there are NO national deviations. The purpose of these regulations is to remove inefficient product from the market in terms of their energy consumption, in operation or in some instances in production. It deals with many different sectors including things as varied as consumer electronics, refrigeration, but for us the biggest effect will be to Tertiary Lighting (this term refers to all non domestic lighting).

For the lighting industry it means that from April 14th 2010 it will no longer be permitted to manufacture and place
on the market any product containing T8 Halophosphate lamps, or luminaires with inefficient control gear.

Please ensure that you no longer quote any of the above luminaire with Halophosphate lamps as BEW will not be
able supply them once our suppliers pre manufactured stock has been exhausted. You should also be reviewing any
contracts that currently use Halophosphate lamped product and agreeing an alternative / upgraded offering.
