Smart Meters

Smart metering or energy monitoring helps you to understand how you use energy in the home.  Smart meters can give you the total consumption figure either in real time or as a historical trend based on unit time. These meters can work in conjunction with your PC or an Internet website to give a variety of information including predicted energy bills.

Smart Homes

Some Smart Home technology, such as automatic timers and thermostats have a relatively short payback period and will reap dividends in the long run. For advice on suitable equipment, installation and costs, consult an electrician who specialises in controls and is compliant with Part L of the building regulations.

Switching Energy Suppliers

It is worth monitoring prices to ensure that you are getting the best deal from your energy provider. There are some great savings to be had.  When switching online, always look out for the Energywatch – the independent gas and electricity watchdog  - Confidence Code.
